Handcrafted, Brazilian and delicious: Forró do Caju Amigo of Tordesilhas.
The Caju Amigo is a cocktail created in 1974, at the old Pandoro bar, which has already closed its doors. There it was made with vodka, cashew juice and cashew nuts in syrup. Since then it has been refined and has its best version with the beverage most Brazilian, cachaça. In today’s good bars and restaurants, the drink, previously made with industrialized juice and ready-made cashews in syrup, has gained more artisanal and bolder versions.

Tordesilhas’ Forró do Caju is made with cachaça, cashew juice, cashew compote, caramel and cashew syrup. All produced by hand in the restaurant’s kitchen and bar. Like the northeastern dance, the Forró do Caju Amigo is delicious, light, fresh, tropical. It is prepared by Fábio de Oliveira, bar manager of Tordesilhas, with the excellent Espírito de Minas cachaça, which celebrates the art of serving together with the best bartenders and gastronomy houses.
Fábio is a creation of the house, having worked at Tordesilhas for 18 years, starting as a handyman at a time when the restaurant was located at a new address on rua Bela Cintra. After this he became a buyer, and then later, he took a leap in to the Tordesilhas saloon and today is responsible for the service and actively participates in everything that happens in the restaurant.
Tordesilhas is 28 years old, is a restaurant totally dedicated to Brazilian cuisine, and its chef, Mara Salles, is one of the leading researchers and experts in Brazilian ingredients and recipes. It was her that developed the syrup, caramel and compote that the Forró do Caju brings, giving a gastronomic touch to this beautiful Brazilian cocktail.
